SUPER important. We don’t know much about Will’s actual biological family beyond Penelope (honestly I have 0 clue what’s up with or what to do backstory wise with Will’s parents but that’s another ramble) but we do see a whole lot of vvvvv loyal, vvvv loving Will, which is basically what he is. He basically drags them all onto his little tier of family, the level he reserves for his no. 1′s, his favs, those super important that he’d fight for.
Okay so firstly Alice, his BFF 4 eva. When he meets Alice it takes like five minutes for him to start comparing her to his sister (a vvv high compliment considering). He sees this ray of sunshine, all stubborn and helping him when she has really no reason to, and she just somewhere along the line becomes super important to him, becomes actually like a sister and is family. He’d do anything for her, I mean he jumps into the freaking ocean with a phobia of water and unable to swim to save her bc she matters so much.
And then he big-brothers Lizard, helps her to survive when she is presumably homeless and alone, making a lil’ sort of family thing. It reminds me a bit of Gavroche from Les Mis tbh, getting together a little gang of children to look after even tho he doesn’t have much of anything anyway
So anyway, the actually big point for this whole thing is way back with the flashback with Ana and her mum how much it matters to him that he’ll “build them a life”, that he’ll be there for her unlike that butt of a mother she has. He wants to have that sorta idealistic life with Anastasia, where they’re happy and they’re together. And even here where he is very young, you see he has placed Ana on his emotional tier of family. really that’s what he wants as an endgame, a quiet enough life with someone he loves, like that’s what he has always wanted. to not have to thieve, to just be y’know. Family defines it all, everything he wants, and that’s why the others are so important and he shows it bc he has this big heart and that’s just how he lives

Will probably goes for sorta subtle moves, with little gifts and just sorta being there (possibly to be an annoying shit but I mean if it gets him attention). so like, we see with Belle that he gets them ‘the usual’ each day, doing that small sorta thing to make her smile and show that he’s there for her?? so then all the way back with Ana, that idea probably translated into stolen sweets or a flower out of someone’s garden. so what I’m trying to say is to let his crush know he just sorta hangs about, does little things to cheer them up, maybe tries to get under their skin a bit and annoy the hell out of them but he lets them make the next move I guess?? maybe not literally but he sorta susses it out, see’s if they’re there as well y’know
who said i love you first?: probably Will the big goober or maybe maybe Ana says it and its such a big thing for her and then everything is precious idk either way is cute
who laughs when the other trips?: Will trips and Ana unapologetically laughs
who pays the bills?: I mean if they’re in Storybrooke, Will’s probably the only one who knows how to do it
which one makes a bigger deal around the holidays?: I could see both of them wanting to make everything special after all they’ve gone through. so they’ll go all out decorating and doing presents and everything bc they just want to be happy. especially since they couldn’t really do these things before now

who’s the lighter sleeper?: Anastasia; it was fine when she was undisturbed when she lived with her mother and when she was queen, but in the wagon/outdoors it was probably a bit of a challenge, and then after everything her nightmares would have had an effect
who believes in ghosts?: both or neither tbh. after everything they’d seen its a case of ‘nah that’s ridiculous’ or bc of everything they’ve seen they’d just accept it??
